From September 14th to October 4th, our school is taking part in Adopt a School – the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation’s fundraising program. Adopt a School unites Indigo, Chapters and Coles stores, the local schools they adopted and their communities in order to raise money for elementary-school libraries across Canada. This year Wellesley has been selected as one of the schools to be adopted.
Below is some information explaining how you are able to help our school raise money for our library…and you don’t even have to spend any money! All funds raised by our school will be used to buy new books.
You may help in the following ways:
1. Adopt our school every day. It’s FREE!
Go to http://adoptaschool.indigo.ca,search for our school and adopt it for free. Return to our school’s page every day and adopt it. Each time you adopt our school, you get it closer to winning the Adopt & Don’t Stop Giveaway. Our school will win an additional $10,000 in books if it gets adopted the most times in our province.
2. Go to our school’s page and make a donation. A $12 donation buys a book for our school, and counts as 10 adopts towards the Adopt & Don’t Stop Giveaway.
3. Spread the news. Use Facebook, Twitter or e-mail to get your friends and family across the country to adopt our school every day for free. Also encourage them to donate.
During the 3 week period from September 14 to Ocotober 4, citizens of Waterloo Region can donate at the Chapters Book store in Waterloo. This money will go towards buying books for our library. All money raised online or collected at the store in Waterloo will be used to purchase books for our library.
Let’s work together to fill our library with new books for our children. Many thanks in advance.
