I want to communicate with you quickly about a situation we had regarding the report of a possible suspicious person near the school. A few of our students shared with a teacher at second Nutrition Break that they saw a suspicious person just off school property. This situation warranted the initiation of the Hold and Secure response by school administration. This response is part of our WRDSB Procedures.
As part of the Hold and Secure response, all doors were kept locked and our students kept indoors. Teachers continued to teach classes as per normal.

The police were called and officers were sent to the area. At approximately 3:40 p.m., the school and surrounding area were deemed safe by the Police and students were dismissed.

Student safety is always of the upmost importance and this is why we are sharing this information. We remind parents to please take this opportunity to discuss street safety with your children. At school, we will continue to make the safety of your children a priority. Our staff members will be meeting in the morning before school to review the situation. They will be able to answer any questions your children may have.
Thanks for your ongoing support. Hopefully this information will help bring a feeling of ease. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school at 519-656-2830.
Sincerely,
Brian Morgan
