As the ground freezes around Ontario, the resilient ground cover that the Board installed in our playgrounds to comply with the CSA standards will no longer provide the protection required by CSA Standard to prevent head injuries. Consequently, play structures will be off limits to students when the ground is frozen. As of now, and until approximately the end of March, our creative structures will be closed to students. (our Kindergarten structure will remain open since students are not climbing /going down slides in this area.)
Announcements have been shared with students and when necessary, teachers will remind students about this expectation.
Although we are not responsible for your child’s safety on the school property before 8:40, after 3:30, or on the weekend, we would encourage you to respect the closure so as to prevent any unnecessary injuries.
