Dear Wellesley Families,

Our student leaders on the Wellesley WE Team are very pleased to partner with students in Mr. Gillians’ grade 6 class to undertake an important local project. A few weeks ago, students in 6C approached their teacher with an idea to support people in need in our greater community. As our first local action project of 2018-19, the WE Team and the students of 6C are collecting items for Lutherwood’s Safe Haven Youth Shelter in Kitchener that supports youth in need (ages 12-18).

Between now and November 5, we are looking for the following items to be donated (collection boxes will be stored in the school’s front foyer):

-Conditioner (not 2 in 1)
-Body wash
-Backpacks
-Duffle bags
-Reusable insulated lunch bags
-Water bottles
-Juice boxes
-Ziploc bags, aluminum foil, saran wrap, plastic reusable containers
-Silverware forks and spoons only
-Plastic forks and spoons only
-Men’s deodorant
-Laundry detergent
-Granola bars
-Small umbrellas
-Gum
-Pajamas-L/XL (men and women)
-Gift cards (stores such as Walmart, various grocery stores)
-Hair brushes
-Craft supplies

Thank you for your support!
